American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (PET Tech) with 3+ years of PET experience and GE equipment proficiency for a cancer center serving adult and geriatric patients.
Details\n- \n
- Acute care hospital cancer center setting serving adult and geriatric patients \n
- Nuclear Medicine unit performing PET and NM procedures for both inpatients and outpatients \n
- Average daily census of 15–18 patients across 3 rooms \n
- 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday with Saturdays as needed \n
- On-call is optional and as-needed \n
- Epic EMR used for documentation \n
- GE equipment used; Siemens experience preferred \n
- \n
- Minimum of 3 years of PET scan experience required \n
- GE equipment experience required \n
- Current BLS, CNMT, and ARRT or NMTCB certification required \n
- IL state license required if applicable — must be in hand, no pending licenses accepted \n
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program required \n
- Experience in an adult hospital setting required \n
- Proficiency in HIDA Scan, PET Scan, isolation precautions, starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, and storing/handling/disposal of radioactive materials \n
- Siemens equipment experience preferred \n
- Preferred experience includes Gastric Emptying, Muga Scan, Bone Scan (3-Phase, Limited, Whole Body), Liver Imaging, and SPECT (Bone, Brain) \n

- Responsible for patient assessment relative to NM and PET procedures, promotion of radiation safety, preparation of radiopharmaceuticals, and performance of scanning procedures \n
- Works under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Radiologist \n
- Utilizes SBAR communication and collaborates with pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams \n
- Scrubs are required in any solid color (no patterns or logos); scrubs are not provided \n
- Flu vaccine or signed flu declination form required during flu season (October–March) \n
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply \n
- Former employees of the facility will not be considered for this position \n
- Local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted at the local rate \n
