Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with neuro experience for a 13-week assignment at a teaching hospital.

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology unit at a teaching hospital
  • \n
  • 5x8 hour day shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • \n
  • 1-2 call shifts per week and one call weekend per month
  • \n
  • Must float within scope of practice as needed
  • \n
  • Uses Siemens equipment and PACS system
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Current BLS and ARRT (R) certification required, ARRT Advanced Cert preferred
  • \n
  • Neuro experience required
  • \n
  • VA license required if applicable, pending accepted if licensed in another state and in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
  • \n
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • \n
  • Prior IR/Neuro IR staff tech experience may be considered in lieu of travel experience
  • \n
  • Proficiency in procedures including angioplasty, embolization, stent placement, chest tube placement, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, and thoracentesis
  • \n
  • Experience with vascular studies including carotid stenting and upper/lower extremity angiography
  • \n
  • Experience with genitourinary procedures including nephrostomy, ureteral stent placement, and biliary drainage
  • \n
  • BSN preferred
  • \n
  • Two professional references required
  • \n
  • Copies of required certifications required for consideration
  • \n
Additional Information\n
    \n
  • Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, genitourinary, and neurological studies
  • \n
  • Complete specialty-specific orientation modules during onboarding
  • \n
  • Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • \n
  • Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
  • \n
  • Radius requirement of 50 miles applies to this unit, local candidates not accepted
  • \n
  • Previous UVA Health employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning as a traveler
  • \n
  • External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
  • \n
