American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Henderson, NC, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale credentials.

- Medical-surgical unit in a Joint Commission accredited, 205-licensed-bed acute care hospital \n
- 48-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio and high patient turnover \n
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM \n
- Weekends required every other weekend \n
- No on-call requirements \n
- Floating may occasionally be required to inpatient rehab or the ER for tasking, though rare and unlikely \n
- EMR: Paragon \n
- 13-week contract \n

- Active RN license in NC or a Compact state currently in hand \n
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale \n
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience \n
- At least 1 prior completed travel assignment required \n
- Proficiency in IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion \n
- Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips \n
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration \n
- Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate \n

- Care for a general adult medical-surgical population with a high-volume, high-turnover caseload \n
- Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred \n
- The facility holds an 'A' LeapFrog Hospital Safety Rating and is part of the Duke LifePoint Health system \n
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible \n
- Candidates who are currently employed full time elsewhere are not eligible \n
- Orientation dates are scheduled bi-monthly — candidates should confirm availability for the appropriate session \n
