Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift travel position requiring 1 year of experience with at least one completed travel assignment and NC or compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Work in the Medical Surgical Combination unit of a hospital environment
\n
• 48-bed unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
\n
• Adult patient population
\n
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
\n
• Weekend hours required as needed, working every other weekend
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• Rare floating possible to inpatient rehab or ER to task
\n
• Uses Paragon EHR system
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS)
\n
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
\n
• At least one prior travel assignment completed
\n
• Must be able to start IVs, insert foley catheters, and insert NG tubes
\n
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips required
\n
• Experience with high patient turnover and 1:6 ratios preferred
\n

• Provide direct medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients on a high-turnover unit
\n
• Facility is a Joint Commission accredited, Duke Lifepoint hospital with 205 licensed beds
\n
• Facility holds an 'A' rating in the LeapFrog Hospital Safety survey
\n
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be eligible for travel rate consideration
\n
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
\n
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
\n
• First-time travelers are not considered due to the completed travel assignment requirement
