Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Iowa, requiring an active IA or Compact RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications, working full-time night shifts on a 13-week contract.

• Adult Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
\n
• Full-time night shifts, 12 hours per shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
\n
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
\n
• 13-week contract
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active Iowa RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
\n
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
\n
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
\n
• Experience preferred but not required
\n
• Two recent employment references required for consideration
\n
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide total patient care using the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs
\n
• Responsible for patient teaching and directing activities of ancillary personnel in accordance with professional nursing standards
\n
• Required immunizations include: MMR (2 doses or positive titers), Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines), Polio, Hepatitis B series/titer or signed declination, current TDaP (within 10 years), and flu vaccine during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
\n
• TB testing required: negative 2-step Mantoux within 1 year of start, or QuantiFERON Gold (if positive, proof of positive result and chest X-ray required)
\n
• Proof of physical exam within 1 year of start date required
\n
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 month of start date required
\n
• Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date required (facility can provide if unavailable)
\n
• Criminal background check required for all states where licensure is held or where candidate has lived/worked in the past 7 years
\n
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) required prior to start
\n
• Completion of CareLearning education modules required prior to start date
\n
