Unit Overview\n- \n
- 24-bed Step-Down/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) \n
- Trauma Level: 2 \n
- Charting System: EPIC \n
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Typically 1:3–4, depending on patient acuity \n
- High-throughput environment with frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges \n
The unit manages a diverse, moderately high-acuity patient population, including:

- Dysrhythmias/cardiac monitoring patients \n
- Cardiopulmonary conditions \n
- Sepsis patients \n
- Patients requiring high-flow oxygen therapy \n
- Behavioral health patients requiring IV medication management \n
Nurses are expected to manage a variety of titratable and non-titratable drips, including:

- Dopamine \n
- Levophed (norepinephrine) \n
- Cardizem (diltiazem) \n
- Heparin \n
- Precedex (dexmedetomidine) \n
- Nitroglycerin \n
- Amiodarone \n
- Dobutamine \n
- Nicardipine \n

- Dedicated unit educator who works closely with staff \n
- Exposure to cardiac, respiratory, and sepsis patients \n
- Strong opportunity to develop step-down and critical-care-adjacent skills \n
- Experience with vasoactive medications and complex patient monitoring \n

- May be required to work up to every other weekend \n
