Start Date: 09/14/2026
Duration: 12 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend required; weekends are Saturday and Sunday. Holiday coverage required during contract. One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract.
Patient Ratio: 1:4–6; Behavioral Health units 1:6
Charting System: Cerner, FirstNet and Launch
Float Required: Yes – within hospital and within scope, including rapid evaluation units and locked Behavioral Health units
Note: 3 years of ED experience required; may consider 2 years of Level I/II trauma experience.

Position Overview:
\nProvide emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a 54-bed Emergency Department, including pediatric, adult, geriatric, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health patients.
\n\n
Job duties:
\n- \n
- Perform emergency assessment, triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias for patients presenting with acute medical and traumatic conditions. \n
- Initiate and maintain IV access, perform phlebotomy, manage central and arterial lines, and administer blood products as clinically indicated. \n
- Provide respiratory support including oxygen therapy, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients. \n
- Administer and monitor IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation according to patient condition and provider orders. \n
- Provide emergency care for stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic trauma, shock, and other critical conditions while maintaining isolation and safety precautions. \n
Requirements:
License: Active Maryland or Compact RN license required
Experience: 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; may consider 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment

\n Unit: 5000-6520 ER
\n Patient Ratios: 1:4–6 in the ED; 1:6 in locked Behavioral Health units
\n Patient Population: Neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric emergency patients; medical, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health cases
\n Patient Diagnoses: CVA/stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuro-trauma, dysrhythmias, STEMI/cardiac emergencies, shock/trauma, traumatic amputation, gunshot wounds, head injury, near drowning, orthopedic trauma, and behavioral health emergencies
Locals accepted at the same rate. 54-bed ED averaging approximately 120 visits/day and serving neonatal through geriatric patients. Navy blue scrubs.
