They are responsible for standard food service work including sanitation duties, and various serving responsibilities. Must have the knowledge of proper food handling procedures and government regulations regarding the food code. The duties of a Food Service Assistant include but are not limited to:/pul type="disc"liCleans and portions, and cuts or peels various foods to prepare for cooking or serving./liliPrepares variety of foods according to customers#39; orders or instructions of superior, following approved procedures./liliPortions and arranges food on serving dishes, trays, carts, or conveyor belts./liliCleans, cuts, slices, or disjoints meats and poultry to prepare for cooking./liliPrepares and serves a variety of beverages, such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks./liliCarries food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas./liliStores food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage, following FIFO (first in, first out) method./liliSets up and restocks buffet area./liliAssists with inventory counts./liliCleans and maintains work areas, equipment, and utensils./liliRequisitions, stores, and distributes food supplies, equipment, and utensils./liliDate and label prepared food./liliCompletes food safety logs./liliWashes dishes./liliAssists with cleaning tasks throughout the lounge./liliAssists with the removal of trash throughout lounge, taking to designated disposal areas./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpstrongFOOD PREP JOB REQUIREMENTS/strong/ppAbility to successfully pass airport authority security background check. High school diploma or GED is preferred. Related background in customer service or restaurant/bar service. Must be at least 18 or 21 years of age as applicable by law. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and possess verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with customers, passengers, and co-workers. Able to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.
