(Bonus points for loving skiing, snowboarding and/or mountain-biking!)/p p /p pstrongAvailability Requirements/strong/p pFull-time, Evenings, Weekends required/p p /p p /p h2Responsibilities/h2 p The Engineer, Level 1, is responsible for ensuring that the property is maintained in the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to customers and employees./p ul liPerform preventative maintenance on Air Handling Units:  change filters, clean coils…etc/li liPerform preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned by Director of Engineering/li liTake required readings on equipment as assigned by Director of Engineering/li liReplace and program televisions as needed./li liReplace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures./li liPerform light furniture repair./li liPerform minor plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc)./li liMaintain repair and preventive maintenance records../li liPaint designated areas./li liRepair and program hotel electronic lock’s. Will train on installed system/li liSnow removal/li liMaintain shop inventory and organization, report any discrepancies to the Dept manager/li /ul h2Qualifications/h2 ul liHigh School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required./li liAt least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred./li liFlexible and long hours sometimes required./li liHeavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 pounds Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly courteous and service oriented manner./li liMust be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests./li liMust be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines./li liApproach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner./li liAttend all hotel required meetings and trainings./li liMaintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel./li liMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag./li liComply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations./li liMaximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions./li liMust be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary./li liMust be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives./li liMust be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas./li liMust be able to maintain confidentiality of information./li liMust be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs./li liPerform other duties as requested by management./li /ul p /p
