care)./span/li lispanMust routinely perform ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning, and repositioning patients)./span/li lispanPerforms point of care testing (including blood glucose), weights, vital signs, IO, telemetry monitor application/reapplication, HAC PSI prevention (TEDs/SCDs)./span/li lispanPerforms simple dressings, placement and removal of restraints, bladder scan, all specimen collections, and ticket to ride./span/li lispanAchieves and maintains competency in at least one or more advanced skills based on department operational need: 12-lead EKGs, phlebotomy/venipuncture, peripheral IV removal, indwelling Foley catheter removal, basic arrhythmia, and NG tubes clamping and removal./span/li /ul pspanAdditional Duties/span/p ul type="circle" lispanPerforms in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors./span/li lispanPerforms other duties as assigned./span/li /ulbr ul type="disc" lispanHigh school diploma or equivalent./span/li lispanMust also have either:/span/li ul type="circle" lispan1 year of general healthcare experience, OR/span/li lispan6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion, OR/span/li lispanEnrollment in PT/OT/PA program or related healthcare training program with completion of at least one clinical rotation, OR/span/li lispanCompletion of a bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field./span/li /ul lispanSuccessful completion of UPMC patient care technician class./span/li lispanSuccessful completion of basic information system training./span/li lispanMicrocomputer experience preferred./span/li lispanAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writing./span/li lispanEmergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic or currently enrolled in an EMT or Paramedic program preferred./span/li lispanAccess to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse./span/li
