This position requires attention to detail, flexibility, ability to work independently, able to stay on task, and a unique understanding of insurance./pp/ppThe Pharmacy Business Specialist’s duties and responsibilities are as follows:/pp- Mail distribution for pharmacy/pp- Daily deposits both insurance and personal payments/pp- CARS (Cash Reconciliation Solutions)/pp- Tills/pp- Insurance benefit verification for our Home Infusion book of business/pp- AR Follow up ensuring proper payment has been received/pp- Prior authorizations/pp- SPAP which is our (Pharmacy Financial Assistance Program)/pp- Monitoring customer accounts and statements/pp- Collection process/pp- Running end of month reports for Finance/pp- Medicare and third party audits/pp- Patient refunds and rebilling prescriptions/pp- Customer service/pp- Resource / trouble shooting for pharmacists/pp- Recording pharmacy payments in Inmar, (our reconciliation company)/pp- Monitoring Medicare claims to ensure payment has been received by all payers./pp- Working denied claims/pp- Each staff member is also required to attend webinars through Noridian./pp(This is essential in staying current with any changes / requirements of Medicare.  This information is then shared to educate pharmacy staff regarding any changes or processes)./pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:left"ubQualifications/b/u/ppHigh school diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education in medical billing and insurance helpful./pp/ppSix months’ related work experience in the medical and or pharmacy field preferred.
