Diagnostic Technologist - Part-time

pUPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join their team of life-changers! This position will work varying shifts including some evenings and weekends. As a Diagnostic Technologist, you'll perform imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes./p pUPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 dependent on your experience and eligibility. This sign-on bonus will require a 2-year commitment.brbrbResponsibilities:/b/p ul liIdentify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures./li liReview patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols./li liDocument patient history in electronic records as needed./li liAdminister PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy./li liEnsure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered./li liPerform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols./li liUse complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation./li liInteract with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork./li liPerform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use./li liCommunicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears./li /ulbr ul liGraduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. ul liTechnologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified./li /ul /li /ul pbLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:/b/p ul liARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
