div div div pstrongPOSITION PURPOSE/strong:br/Under the direction and supervision of the District Coordinator of Academic Success, professional tutors will provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students./p pstrongGENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: nbsp;/strong/p ul liAttend required training sessions./li liIncorporate skills learned in training to daily practice with students./li liUnderstand the curriculum and course requirements within their subject area, and teach in a manner to support it./li liProvide one-on-one and small group tutoring to students, incorporating:nbsp; ul liLearning opportunities that address multiple learning styles/li liPractices that address affective factors such as anxiety/li liStudy skills that empower the student to learn/li liTechnology such as computers and tablet PCs, with related software/li /ul/li liProvide support and oversight to peer tutors as needed./li liBe available for additional hours during peak periods of the semester, such as finals./li liBe punctual and notify the supervisor of any delays or absences from work./li /ul pstrongPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:/strongbr/uRequired:/u/p ul liBachelor’s degree with course work in the subject area you will tutor with a grade of B or higher/li /ul puPreferred:/u/p ul liMaster’s degree with course work in subject area you will tutor/li liTutoring and/or teaching experience/li /ul pstrongWORKING CONDITIONS:/strong/p ul liVariances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position./li liHours may include evenings./li liBusy working environment with numerous interruptions/li /ul pstrongSALARY:nbsp; /strong$15.00nbsp;per hour / up to 19 hours per week/p /div /div /div
