divbThis position has a $5k sign on bonus!!/b/div divb/b/div divbJob Summary:/b/div pUnder the supervision of the Radiology Supervisor, performs a variety of MRI procedures and departmental support functions./p divbrbEssential Responsibilities:/b/div ul liPerforms MRI examinations of the brain, body, spine and extremities on patients of all ages effectively adjusting scanning parameters for different patient body habitus. Selects and modifies technical factors to enhance images; uses flare and SAT imaging techniques. Determines appropriate equipment for scanning up to but not limited to body coils./li liIdentifies gross pathology in the human body and adjusts T1 and T2 scanning parameters to provide pertinent information for interpretation. Adjusts parameters of equipment to minimize risk factors to self and patient./li liEffectively performs Diffusion studies, MR Angiograms, reformats and MIP imaging. Performs specialized exams i.e., MRA runoffs and post arthrogram work ups./li liEffectively uses magnetic resonance and adjusts parameters to minimize exposure to patient and self. Follows established protocols and effectively uses scanning techniques to include, window and contrast levels, scanning time sequences, scanning delays, scanning thickness, FOV, scout images, reformatting, image reconstruct and 3-D image reconstruct. Photographs, archives and retrieves images./li liIs certified to start and remove IV lines for contrast studies per established departmental policy and procedure. Identifies and responds to IV contrast reactions up to and including calling emergency personnel. Proficient in the use of an IV Contrast Power Injector./li liIdentifies each patient, reviews each patients requisition and previous studies for consistency (examination ordered/clinical diagnosis), and records pertinent data on MRI requisition at all times. Responsible for performing comprehensive screening of patients and other individuals before allowing them to enter the MR system room./li liEffectively explains, knows, and informs anyone entering the MR system room the danger associated with implants and devices, in addition to pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), and loose objects./li liReviews each examination for technical accuracy, presents completed examination to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure./li liIdentifies anatomical orientation on all required images and ensures proper film identification on all images./li liMaintains daily patient MRI log documenting correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care: patients full name, patients member number, patients physician, type and amount of contrast used, examination performed./li liDemonstrates ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physicians orders./li liPerforms proper computer skills and shows working knowledge of patient orders, status changes, patient charges and profiles./li liPerforms other duties as directed./li /ulbr divbBasic Qualifications:/b/div divuExperience/u/div ul liMinimum one (1) year of experience to include on-the-job training and internships as an MRI technologist, OR registry eligible ARRT advanced certification in MRI required; however, for new hires in classification must be obtained within 12 months of hire with one (1) year recent experience as a Radiologic technologist with ARRT required./li liPer the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived./li /ul divuEducation/u/div ul liGraduate of an accredited radiology technology program or MRI Accredited Certificate Program required./li liHigh School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required./li /ul divuLicense, Certification, Registration/u/div ul liAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging within 12 months of hire OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Certificate/li /ul ul liBasic Life Support/li /ul ul liRadiologic Technologist Certification/li /ul divbAdditional Requirements:/b/div ul liVenipuncture competency check off required within 3 months of hire./li liRequired to stand, push, pull and lift patients./li liMust be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow./li liMay be required to left objects heavier than 50 pounds, perform difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises./li liPosition requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time./li liMust have good oral and written communication skills./li liKnowledge of customer focused service requirements of the organization./li liAbility to communicate pleasantly and effectively with members and coworkers./li liProficiency in applicable computer software./li liMust be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment./li /ul divbPreferred Qualifications:/b/div ul liN/A/li /ul
