Recreation Aide - Full-time / Part-time

h2About the Department/h2pSupervise and implement operations and programs at various Sports and Recreation Complexes. Maintain general order and integrity of the programs. Inspect facility and the surrounding area to help ensure safe and proper conduct of patrons. Maintains discipline and encourages compliance with safety rules and regulations. Assist the public by answering questions in person, by email or by phone and perform related duties as assigned by the Manager.brnbsp;/ph2Position Duties/h2polliParticipates in the maintenance, safety, and sanitary operation of the assigned facility.nbsp;liPerform other duties in connection with the operation of the facility as directed by the Manager. Bat testing, maintains rosters, protest resolutions, submits scores, etc.liKnowledge and implementation of sport league rules amp; guidelines as well as league scheduling.liInvestigates complaints and reports them to the proper authorities.nbsp;liRenders first aid and summon medical assistance when necessary.nbsp;liCommunicate effectively with the public, staff, and officials.nbsp;liMaintains discipline and encourages compliance with safety rules and regulations. Enforces City of Holland ordinances./olOTHER DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:brolliPerforms other duties as assigned./ol/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2polliThe job requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent. Preferably a Sports Management degree from an accredited college.liBasic knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation requirements and practices for the facility.liBasic knowledge of first aid methods.liInterpersonal skills are necessary to inform the public effectively and to enforce laws, ordinances, regulations, and safety rules with firmness, tact, and impartiality.nbsp;liSome knowledge of the philosophy and objectives of the parks/recreation field.liAbility to follow instructions and carry them out effectively.liAbility to maintain records and to prepare reports with minimum direction or supervision.liMental ability to frequently handle pressures related to courteously dealing with the public.brnbsp;/ol/ph2Other Qualifications/h2pnbsp;WORKING CONDITIONS:brolliWork includes outside working conditions with periodic exposure to extreme hot or cold weather conditions.liWork includes exposure to dust, dirt, noise, moving objects, and chemicals./ol/p
