Special functions may include recommending class scheduling, providing information for budget planning, advisement, student recruitment, and registration./p pnbsp;/p pstrongEssential Duties and Responsibilities:/strong/p ul liOversee departments shared labs, tools and equipment/li liProvides instruction in automotive technology for all assigned students/li liDemonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements/li liDemonstrates knowledge of current procedures in automotive technology/li liDevelops and follows approved curriculum standards and course syllabi/li liMonitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment/li liMaintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans/li liParticipate in marketing of courses to prospective students/li liAssist with course/program evaluation and continuous improvement and resolve quiz disputes when necessary/li liRecord attendance in learning management system/li liMotivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process/li liReview syllabus and learning outcomes the first night of class/li liProvide sufficient time for students to complete course evaluations/li liDo not release class early/li liDo not leave class unattended/li liRespond to student inquiries/li liKeep Program Manager informed of any curriculum or student code of conduct issues/li liBe familiar with all emergency procedures posted in the classroom/li liMaintain acceptable program quality and satisfaction scores/li /ul h4Qualifications/h4brpstrongEducation and Experience:/strong/p ul liAssociates Degree or Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician Certification (A1-A8 plus L1) required./li liTeaching or training experience required./li liComfortable with teaching in classroom and on a distance learning platform/li liAble to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines/li liExcellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills/li liAbility to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, and some weekend assignments/li liProficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e Microsoft Office suite)/li /ul
