pstrongObjective of Position:/strongnbsp;Prepares and finishes metal surfaces of trailers in preparation for painting process, and apply paint to trailer surfaces and the ability to train in these processes./p pnbsp;/p pstrongPrincipal Responsibilities:/strong/p ol liFollows surface preparation specifications on trailers and accessories./li liFollows supervisor/assistant supervisor’s instructions./li liUses blasting equipment to remove rust, carbon, mill scale and weld spatter.nbsp; May be required to use buffers and chippers etc. to clean hard to reach areas./li liHandles and utilizes all material used in the blast areas in a safe manner./li liApplies primer and topcoat to trailers/li liRepairs paint on trailers/li liMaintains Paint vault/li liInspects own work and trainee’s work/li liDries and prepares trailer for paint booth by setting on paint carts./li liOperates overhead crane in a safe manner./li liIs familiar with all equipment used and is responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep.nbsp;/li liAdvises supervisor of any problems with sandblasting equipment or trailers.nbsp;/li liMonitors supplies needed in area and updates supervisor as necessary.nbsp;/li liCarefully prepares trailers for blasting or painting, by masking off key components on the trailer that are not blasted or painted.nbsp;/li liHandles, stores and disposes of all hazardous materials properly.
