This position functions as a Painter and performs skilled work involving the maintenance and repair of the building./divbr/br/diviThe pay listed is the hourly range for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data./i/divbr/br/bResponsibilities/bbr/liPerforms all types of industrial painting work.nbsp;/liliPrepares various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding,nbsp;sandblasting or other means as necessary.nbsp;/liliMixes, matches, and blends various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains andnbsp;special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties.nbsp;/liliCaulks, putties, cements or plasters holes and cracks. Cuts and replaces glass innbsp;windows and doors.nbsp;/liliErects and uses ladders, scaffolding, and swinging stage equipment as required.nbsp;/liliPaints buildings, structures, equipment, and furniture using brush, spray gun or othernbsp;applicator.nbsp;/liliPrepares wall and hangs paper or other wall covering material.nbsp;/liliDetermines quantities and requests supplies orally or in writing.nbsp;/liliCleans and stores tools and equipment and cleans work sites.nbsp;/liliAssists in a variety of maintenance and repair work on plant equipment includingnbsp;pumps, fans, gear boxes, shafts, chemical feed equipment, water lines, valves, belts,nbsp;motors, electric panels, generators, boilers, bar screens and the like.nbsp;/liliAssists in performing preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, plumbing, andnbsp;electrical fixtures and systems.nbsp;/liliDrives vehicles and transports personnel, materials, and equipment as needed.nbsp;/liliBends/stoops/reaches and lifts/carries heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds; twistsnbsp;torso 45° to 90° to perform essential functionsnbsp;/liliWorks in confined spaces;nbsp;climbs ladders and onto scaffolding;nbsp;/liliWorks in inclement weather and emergency situations.nbsp;/liliMay be assigned to wear a respirator and/or self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)nbsp;as needed.nbsp;/liliMaintains records and logs as needed. Performs related duties as needed or assigned./libr/br/b/bbr/liConsiderable knowledge of industrial applications and appropriate coatings for metalnbsp;and structures exposed to adverse weather and moisture conditions.nbsp;/liliConsiderable knowledge of practices, tools, equipment and techniques associated withnbsp;painting trade.nbsp;/liliConsiderable knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used innbsp;painting activities; ability to use and operate hand and power tools as needed in a safe,nbsp;efficient manner.nbsp;/liliConsiderable knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining to painting andnbsp;ability to read and follow MSDS recommendations and requirements.nbsp;/liliAbility to perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, reaching, digging,nbsp;carrying and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 100 lbs.nbsp;/liliRequires manual dexterity of both hands and feet to perform activities such as liftingnbsp;overhead, twisting and bending while lifting, climbing ladders and stairs while wearingnbsp;protective equipment, and working in confined spaces, including repetitive arm motionnbsp;below, at, and above shoulder level.nbsp;/liliAbility to work long hours in emergency situations such as equipment failures, and innbsp;inclement weather conditions, including outdoor summer temperatures of over 100° andnbsp;winter temperatures as low as -10°.nbsp;/liliAbility to ascend and descend numerous stairways while performing tasks.nbsp;/liliAbility to work while wearing required personal safety equipment which includes gloves,nbsp;hardhat, MSA airpack, safety glasses, safety harness, safety vest and steel toe shoesnbsp;or boots.nbsp;/liliAbility to wear a respirator and/or self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) asnbsp;outlined in the Industrial Standard for Respirator Use.nbsp;/liliAbility to assist with a variety of maintenance and repair work on plant equipmentnbsp;including pumps, fans, gear boxes, shafts, chemical feed equipment, water lines,nbsp;valves, belts, motors, electric panels, generators, boilers, bar screens and the like.nbsp;/liliAbility to mix, match, and blend paint to desired color, consistency, and dryingnbsp;properties.nbsp;/liliAbility to estimate materials and time required to complete various tasks.
