The Programs Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents . As the Programs Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging and stimulating activities tailored to the unique needs and abilities of our Assisted Living residents. Your primary goal will be to create a supportive and enjoyable environment that promotes socialization, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being./p pnbsp;/p pnbsp;/p pKey Responsibilities:/p ol liActivity Planning and Implementation: ul liDevelop and implement a diverse range of activities and programs that cater to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs of Assisted Living residents./li liConduct assessments to understand residents#39; interests, preferences, and abilities, and use this information to create individualized care plans./li liCollaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals and family members, to ensure activities are appropriate and aligned with residents#39; care plans./li liPlan and execute group activities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise programs, games, reminiscing sessions, and other intellectually stimulating programs./li liProvide one-on-one interactions and personalized activities for residents who may require individual attention./li liWilling and able to drive residents in the company vehicle when needed./li /ul /li liDocumentation and Evaluation: ul liMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident participation, progress, and responses to various activities./li liRegularly evaluate the effectiveness of activities and programs, seeking feedback from residents, families, and staff to make necessary improvements./li liPrepare reports and summaries on resident engagement, progress, and overall well-being for review by the Memory Care Department and other relevant parties./li /ul /li liCommunication and Collaboration: ul liFoster open and effective communication with Assisted Livingnbsp;team members, residents, families, and volunteers to ensure a comprehensive approach to resident care./li liCollaborate with other departments within the senior living community to coordinate intergenerational programs, outings, and special events that involve Assisted Living residents./li liProvide guidance and support to staff and volunteers assisting with activities, ensuring they understand and follow established guidelines and protocols./li /ul /li liSafety and Engagement: ul liCreate a safe and inclusive environment that promotes the physical and emotional well-being of residents./li liProactively identify potential risks and hazards related to activities and take appropriate measures to mitigate them./li liEncourage active resident participation by promoting a sense of purpose, engagement, and socialization within the Assisted Living community./li /ul /li /ol h4Qualifications/h4brpQualifications/p ul liAble to pass a criminal background check/li liEducation background in recreational therapy, gerontology, psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred./li liPrevious experience working with individuals with memory-related challenges, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting./li liUnderstanding of the unique needs and characteristics of individuals with dementia or Alzheimer#39;s disease./li liKnowledge of therapeutic recreation principles, techniques, and best practices./li liStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively./li liExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with residents, families, staff, and volunteers./li liCompassionate and patient approach when working with individuals with memory impairments./li liAbility to adapt activities to meet the varying cognitive and physical abilities of residents./li liProficiency in using technology for activity planning, documentation, and communication./li /ul
