Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others./ph3Responsibilities/h3divul liPromote trust and respect among associates/li liCreate an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store/li liGain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to questions and make suggestions about products/li liOffer product samples, consistent with company guidelines and applicable laws, to help customers discover new items or products inquire about/li liInform customers of wine specials/li liProvide customers with products that they have requested/li liRecommend wine items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need/li liAssist customers with pairing of wine and other items such as meat, cheeses, desserts/li liCollaborate with store chef for wine tastings and other programs featuring wines/li liStay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads/li liEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained/li liReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management/li liPractice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair/li liNotify management of customer or employee accidents/li liReport all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud/li liMust be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation/li /ul/divh3Qualifications/h3divul liSecond language (speaking, reading and/or writing)/li liKnowledge of imported and domestic varieties, the flavor profiles and how they are made/li liKnowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers as they relate to the consumer/li liExperience working with wine and beer/li liRetail experience/li liSecond language (speaking, reading and/or writing)/li liHigh school education or equivalent/li liMust be 21 years of age/li liAbility to handle stressful situations/li liEffective communication skills/li liKnowledge of basic math/li liPass wine test once employed/li /ul/divh2Company/h2divdiv Based in California, Ralph’s merged with The Kroger Company in 1998.
