Local Contract Medical Lab Technician

MetaSense, Inc. is seeking a local contract Medical Lab Technician for a local contract job in Detroit, Michigan.

Minimum Experience:
3 - years of experience

Certifications:
BLS , MLT 

Technology:
Epic, Sunquest CoPathPlush (LIS)

Hours: 8-5, Monday through Friday (Potential Flex hours 9:-5 or 9:30 - 6:00)

Prior experience in clinical labs, handling specimens and comfortable in PPE. A fair amount of testing is prenatal testing. Important: We are looking for a resource with sample receipt and accessioning, and lab bench experience rather than phlebotomy

Job Summary:
Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols, performs select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems. May perform phlebotomy as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:
-Ability to communicate effectively with others.
-Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.

Required Education:
-Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.

Required Certification & Licensure:
-Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).
