Pay Rate: $17.75 to $19.65 hour!

Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist provides expertise in blood draws and specimen preparation. Their ability to put patients at ease and obtain sufficient samples with minimal discomfort to patients across a wide demographic is critical to our commitment to high quality care for our patients and those of our partners.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES:
DESCRIPTION:
- As a Phlebotomist/Specimen Collector, you will be a critical part of the quantitative drug testing analysis performed by our client.
- You will be responsible for efficiently and safely obtaining urine samples from patients for the purpose of laboratory testing.
- In this role you will be required to conduct observed and/or supervised specimen collections.
- Observed Collections are those requiring observation of patient providing sample either by direct vision, through a mirror, or through a camera. Supervised collects are those requiring supervision of patient providing sample by being in the same vicinity as the patient.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the collection, processing and shipping of blood & urine specimens •Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens
- Observe & collect urine specimens from patients
- Follow departmental policies to correctly identify the patient before any specimen is obtained
- Properly label and document the specimens and prepare for shipment •Demonstrate customer service and compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff
- •Communicate with, understand, and react effectively to a diverse patient population base
- •Follow Universal Precautions and all OSHA standards when handling specimens •Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- •Inform Supervisor of low volume shifts, unusual problems or deviations from established procedures
- •Maintain neat, clean, orderly patient/work areas at all times
- •Order processing & office supplies as needed
SKILLS/ ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A minimum of 6 months of recent venipuncture experience required
- Verifiable track-record of providing excellent customer service
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Strong computer skills – must be able to work in multiple programs and windows, manage email and reports
- Fast and accurate data entry
- Communicate clearly and concisely with accuracy, credibility and confidence
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
