UPMC Somerset is seeking a Diagnostic Technologist to join a dedicated team of life‑changers committed to delivering exceptional patient care!
\nAs a Diagnostic Technologist, you will perform a wide range of imaging procedures independently, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires sound judgment, technical expertise, and initiative while supporting accurate diagnoses in a fast-paced clinical environment.
\nThis full-time opportunity offers a dynamic schedule working Monday through Friday with rotating weekends across Daylight, Evening, and Night shifts.
\nUPMC is excited to offer a generous sign-on bonus of $10,000 with a 2-year commitment.
\nResponsibilities:
\n- \n
- Identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures. \n
- Review patient history and physician orders, applying departmental protocols. \n
- Document patient history in electronic records as needed. \n
- Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy. \n
- Ensure exams are coded, tracked, networked to ISITE, and charges entered. \n
- Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols. \n
- Use complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, and documentation. \n
- Interact with patients and co-workers with care, respect, and teamwork. \n
- Perform technical procedures with independent judgment and appropriate radiation use. \n
- Communicate instructions clearly to patients, explaining procedures to ease their fears. \n

- Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date. \n
- \n
- Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified. \n
- Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained. \n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

- ARRT Certificate\n
- \n
- Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025. \n
\n - Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\n
- \n
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire \n
\n - Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal \n
- Act 33 with renewal \n
- Act 34 with renewal \n
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal \n
