7p-7a weekends as needed, Float to all St. Lukes Treasure Valley Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Boise in primary skill set (L&D/Mother Baby) or as a sitter.

LDRP RN – Traveler Position

  • Department: LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)

  • Beds: 14 LDRP rooms (patients remain in the same room)
  • \n
  • OR Suites: 2 C-section suites (RNs circulate and recover)
  • \n
  • Triage Beds: 4 (travelers will staff triage)
  • \n
  • Birth Volume: ~90 births/month (~1,200/year)
  • \n
Patient Population\n

  • 32+ week gestation
  • \n
  • Hypertensive patients receiving magnesium
  • \n
  • VBACs and TOLACs
  • \n
  • Gestational diabetes
  • \n
  • Antepartum patients
  • \n
  • Community includes many planned home births requiring hospital intervention
  • \n
  • Does not manage: Placenta previa or placenta accreta
  • \n
Staffing Ratios (AWHONN)\n

  • Labor: 1:1

  • Cervical ripening: may pair 2 patients
  • \n
  • Postpartum: 1:3 couplets
  • \n
  • Triage: 1:3 (resource nurse assists if census increases)

Required Experience\n

  • 3 years Labor & Delivery experience
  • \n
  • Mother/Baby experience (1 year preferred)
  • \n
  • First-time travelers accepted

    • Labor & delivery care

    • Newborn care during first hour after birth

    • Triage

    • Circulating C-sections

    • Postpartum couplet care

    • Magnesium therapy management

  • Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
