Industrial Hygiene Specialist/Asbestos Field Inspector - Part-time

With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together./p pstrongRole description:/strong/p pArcadis has an immediate need for an Asbestos Building Inspector on an as-needed basis on our Regulated Building Material and Industrial Hygiene team in thenbsp;Seattle/Portland area.nbsp;The role includes performing field work for asbestos, such as inspections, abatement monitoring/oversight, air sampling and onsite analysis. Additional tasks may also include indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold investigations, building characterization assessments, and report writing.nbsp;The position requires candidate to have a validnbsp;EPA AHERA Building Inspector asbestos credential. The location will be based out of either ournbsp;Seattle ornbsp;Portland offices, with project sites throughout the greaternbsp;Pacific Northwest area. This position will require anywhere between 8 to 16hours of availability per week.nbsp; Project specific training will be provided by Arcadis, as needed./p pstrongRole accountabilities:/strong/p ul liRoutinely interact/communicate with Arcadis’ project managers, and leaders; abatement contractors; consultants; and client personnel to ensure on time and satisfactory performance on projects./li liManage and self-perform tasks associated with inspections/surveys and abatement monitoring for asbestos, mold (water intrusion), IAQ, and other regulated building materials at a variety of facilities including but not limited to: commercial, public schools, financial, retail, industrial, chemical, manufacturing, oil/gas, electrical, etc./li liProvide detailed written and/or electronic project field notes, sampling summaries for work conducted./li liTravel to project locations in the greaternbsp;Pacific Northwest area on a daily basis. Also, travel longer distances, with the potential for overnight stays, as required./li liEmployees are expected to be flexible as work hours may include nights and weekends, or extended work beyond 8 hours depending on the project./li /ul pstrongThe ideal candidate will have:/strong/p ul liProblem-solving skills: able to identify problems and implement corrective processes./li liStrong communication, skills both written and verbal/li liAbility to take ownership of assigned work and contribute to the success of the team.
