pArcadis has an immediate need for an Asbestos Building Inspector on an as-needed basis on our Regulated Building Material and Industrial Hygiene team in thenbsp;Seattle/Portland area.nbsp;The role includes performing field work for asbestos, such as inspections, abatement monitoring/oversight, air sampling and onsite analysis. Additional tasks may also include indoor air quality (IAQ)/mold investigations, building characterization assessments, and report writing.nbsp;The position requires candidate to have a validnbsp;EPA AHERA Building Inspector asbestos credential. The location will be based out of either ournbsp;Seattle ornbsp;Portland offices, with project sites throughout the greaternbsp;Pacific Northwest area. This position will require anywhere between 8 to 16hours of availability per week.nbsp; Project specific training will be provided by Arcadis, as needed./p
pstrongRole accountabilities:/strong/p
ul
liRoutinely interact/communicate with Arcadis’ project managers, and leaders; abatement contractors; consultants; and client personnel to ensure on time and satisfactory performance on projects./li
liManage and self-perform tasks associated with inspections/surveys and abatement monitoring for asbestos, mold (water intrusion), IAQ, and other regulated building materials at a variety of facilities including but not limited to: commercial, public schools, financial, retail, industrial, chemical, manufacturing, oil/gas, electrical, etc./li
liProvide detailed written and/or electronic project field notes, sampling summaries for work conducted./li
liTravel to project locations in the greaternbsp;Pacific Northwest area on a daily basis. Also, travel longer distances, with the potential for overnight stays, as required./li
liEmployees are expected to be flexible as work hours may include nights and weekends, or extended work beyond 8 hours depending on the project./li

liProblem-solving skills: able to identify problems and implement corrective processes./li
liStrong communication, skills both written and verbal/li
liAbility to take ownership of assigned work and contribute to the success of the team. This includes the ability self-perform work, prioritize schedule, communicate with project team as needed, produce on time, high quality documentation and be responsive to phone and email requests/li
liThe willingness to learn new digital technologies for field servicesnbsp;/li
liMust be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment over the duration of a work shift/li
liMust be able to climb and descend a ladder/li
liA valid driver’s license, clean driving record is required./li
liMust be able to clear background check, pass medical exam and be medically cleared to wear negative pressure respirator/li
liAbility to work on teams as well as independently with minimal direct supervision/li

li1 to 2 years minimum experience in consulting environment withnbsp;asbestos, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality, mold evaluations, and ventilation system assessments./li
liEPA AHERA Building Inspector Certification/li

liAS or BS in physical sciences or industrial hygiene, safety, environmental sciences, or related science or engineering fields/li
liGeneral understanding of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, building construction/li
liGeneral understanding of building renovation and demolition/li
liNIOSH 582 certification or equivalent certification/li
liOSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER/li
liOSHA 30-hour Construction/li
liExperience with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Outlook/li
