They will have a direct focus on the safety of participants as well as retention of members through great customer service. All staff must strive to work cooperatively with fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA./ppbr//ppstrongPRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):/strong/polliEnsure the safety and well-being of all members, participants, and employees by interpreting and enforcing all policies established by the YMCA./liliMaintains all necessary skills required of a certified lifeguard./liliScan all areas of the pool using proper lifeguarding skills./liliMake judgment calls and correct actions as required./liliDeal with emergency situations as they arise using all proper, trained skills./liliMaintain pool area including cleaning, equipment, records, etc./liliConsistently recognize, remedy (if possible), and report safety hazards as they arise./liliTake a leadership role in any emergency that takes place around the pool or pool area./liliInterpret and enforce pool rules amp; policies to ensure the safety of all participants and swimmers./liliDemonstrate relationship building skills in all interactions./li/olpbr//ppRequirements/ppstrongRequired:/strong/pulli16 years of age/liliCurrent YMCA or ARC lifeguard Certification/liliCurrent CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, O2 certification/li/ulpstrongPreferred:/strong/pulliExperience in an aquatic setting/liliKnowledge of pool chemicals and record keeping/liliBilingual - English/Spanish/li/ul
