Marmon is part of Berkshire Hathaway, one of the world#39;s largest, most successful, and best respected companies./pp/ppbWhat you#39;d be doing:/b/pulliInspects locomotive before operating to verify specified fuel, sand, water, and other supplies./liliReceives starting signal from foreman or helper and moves controls, such as throttle and airbrakes, to move locomotive./liliInterprets train orders, train signals, and rules and regulations to operate locomotive, following safety regulations, operating procedures, and switching schedule./liliAssists crew leader in training new employees./liliObserves track to detect obstructions./liliPrepares reports to explain accidents, unscheduled stops, or delays./liliLubricates moving parts of locomotive./liliHandle train equipment in a safe manner using independent or automatic brakes./li/ululliOperation of hand or ground throw switches, derails, gates, etc./liliControl movement of equipment by radio, hands, and lantern./liliApply and release hand brakes to secure or move equipment./liliHandling air hoses, wheel chocks, coupling and uncoupling of rail cars./liliMust wear required personal protective equipment./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulp/ppbA little about who we are looking for:/b/ppThe qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential duties of this position.
