Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and multiple active certifications including TNCC and NRP.

• Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
\n
• 12-hour night shifts
\n
• Every other weekend required
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• 36 hours per week
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required — must show Active status on LARA and/or Nursys
\n
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
\n
• Active certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NRP, and TNCC
\n
• 2 supervisory reference forms taken within the last 2 years required for consideration
\n
• Current skills checklist (within the last year), pertinent to ER specialty, required for consideration
\n
• Travel nursing experience highly preferred
\n

Additional Information\n

• Triages patients, obtains patient history and vital signs, and performs nursing assessments
\n
• Initiates immediate care independently in life-threatening situations in the absence of a physician
\n
• Provides care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients, performing complex and simple nursing procedures
\n
• Answers ambulance radios and independently provides appropriate orders for pre-hospital care
\n
• Works with multiple types of sophisticated equipment in a frequently stressful environment
\n
• Provides discharge and follow-up instructions to patients and families
\n
• Collaborates with the care team to update and revise treatment plans based on current patient information
\n
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
\n
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested, and all scheduling requests must be submitted prior to offer — requests made at or after the time of offer will not be approved and may result in a rescinded offer
