American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency.

- Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of an academic medical center hospital \n
- Patient population includes complex multisystem cases such as multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, renal failure, and COVID-19 \n
- Patient ratios of 1:1–2 \n
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week), with both day (7:00–19:00) and night (19:30–7:30) shifts available \n
- No on-call responsibilities \n
- Specialized procedures include continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and use of externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients \n
- Equipment used includes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, GE ventilators, and boom lifts in patient rooms \n
- Epic EMR is used; experience is required \n
- \n
- Active OH or compact RN license required \n
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS \n
- Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required \n
- Epic EMR experience required \n
- Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required \n
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or Supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co-worker references are not accepted \n

- Previous travel nursing experience is preferred \n
- Local candidates are accepted \n
- Former employees of the facility are eligible after a minimum 6-month separation \n
- Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract period \n
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position; candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet upon receipt \n
