JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Payroll Director, provides support to the payroll department and staff regarding payroll input, updates, audits, and inquiries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
· Provide quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
· Maintain employee timekeeping data such as hours worked and non-worked using the KRONOS timekeeping system.
· Use various timekeeping reports to audit the data and communicate updates and requirements to team members at each community.
· Maintain vendor timecards and create new timecards as requested.
· Review payroll batches, imported hours, earnings, to review and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
· Review ESS and MSS workflow changes affecting net wages such as changes to tax elections, direct deposits, rate changes, and benefit deductions.
· Review new hire workflows, to ensure all required fields are updated or corrected for accurate flow to timekeeping and GL.
· Record and process payment requests for bonus, shift pay, commissions, per workflows and internal approval processes
· Prepare periodic reports as needed by department supervisor or Executive Director of earnings, hours worked, sick days, vacation days.
· Is available to answer employee questions and/or concerns regarding their paycheck, benefits, or payroll policies, and respond no later than 48 hours.
· Process terminations in the system and issue timely manual checks as required.
· Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner. Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
· Attends all mandatory in-service meetings. Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS

· Three to five years payroll experience, which includes processing payroll from beginning to end in an automated system, and calculating and issuing manual checks.
· Detailed timekeeping experience with Kronos, ADP, Ultipro, or other robust timekeeping system which includes calculation of regular rate of pay as required.
· Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws, minimum wage and pay requirements in California
· Strong excel skills and excellent attention to detail is required.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
· Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
· Must have good communication and customer service skills; ability to work well with others and take direction; ability to work under pressure to ensure timely review, correction and reporting of payroll.
