At APM, we nurture future leaders in our four ECE centers!nbsp;nbsp;/ppbr//ppThe Child Care Worker is responsible for supervising, nurturing, and caring for children typically 3 to 5 years old, before and after APM’s regular Pre-K program. Welcomes children each day, provides meals and snacks as needed, performs crafts and activities, and ensures children behave well when in contact with other children.nbsp;/ppbr//ppstrongDuties and Responsibilities/strong/pp1) Work as a team with the teacher, parents and other volunteers in preparing and carrying out the daily activities of the classroom before and after the preschool program./pp2) Work with the teacher and parents to develop a culturally relevant education program of classroom activities and group socialization activities, complemented by activities that can be carried out at home./pp3) Help to organize the classroom into specific learning centers, with developmentally and culturally appropriate materials in each learning center./pp4) Create a warm, inviting atmosphere for parents, children and staff in the classroom./pp5) Maintain confidentiality in all matters pertaining to families and children. Share information only with staff “need to know” in order to assure the healthy development of children and to assist in areas of family needs./pp6) Participate in completing all required record keeping, such as attendance forms, volunteer logs, meal participation sheet, permission slips etc./pp7) Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor./pp8) Ability to lift from 20 to 40 pounds during the day, stand for a long period during the day, and walk 3 miles on a weekly basis./ppbr//ppRequirements/pp1) High School Diploma or equivalent/pp2) Must have the CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or a minimum of three (3) early childhood education credits/pp3) Knowledge of or experience working with at-risk children/pp4) Bilingual, bicultural, in the Latino culture preferred/ppbr//ppnbsp;/ppemstrongIMPORTANT:/strong/em APM requires all new hires to obtain the following clearances: FBI, Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background, National Sex Offenders Registry, and Medical/TB Test./ppbr//ppAPM is an equal opportunity employer.
