Usually is responsible to the Department Supervisor for the quantity and quality of the work of others in the group. An element of leadership is necessary for effective guidance of others, but not to the extent usually associated with the jobs of SUPERVISORY level. Hiring, disciplining, promoting and firing are not contemplated within the scope of this classification. TYPICAL DUTIES:1.Drives automobile, minibus, or light duty truck. 2.Transports persons and/or loads, hauls and delivers supplies, equipment, lab tests, mail and freight.3.Maintains and may perform minor repair work on vehicles.4.May keep special forms or records of vehicle trips, mileage, gas, repairs, etc., and summarize into periodic reports. 5.Assists in receiving and shipping areas when requested and performs other duties as directed.
