h2About the Department/h2pJOB DESCRIPTION:p style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;"Under the general supervision of the assigned TrAC Dean, the Adjunct Associate Professor of Emergency Medical Technologies shall provide for the functions of administrative direction, medical quality coordination, and program instruction. The successful candidate will provide evidence of knowledge and understanding of the racial, socioeconomic, and academic diversity within community college populations; the candidate also will show knowledge and understanding of how these factors relate to the need for equity-minded and culturally-responsive practices in the community college setting./p/ph2Position Duties/h2pROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:p style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;"Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:/pol style="margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"liConduct and organize classes at the instructional level to meet the educational requirements stated in the course description and the course information outlines.liAdvise and assist students in achieving stated course objectives and student learning outcomes.liEvaluate the progress of each student; connect students to appropriate campus-support services.liParticipate in the evaluation of course offerings, including the revision of course descriptions and course outlines that reflect a culturally-responsive pedagogy.liSelect textbooks, audiovisual and other instructional materials that support the learning environment and are reflective of the college's mission of equity-minded education.nbsp;liMaintain currency in your field.nbsp;liMaintain necessary records of student enrollment, attendance, progress, and grades; prepare and submit required reports to the administration.liReport to management any condition that might jeopardize the health or safety of students or the public.liBe familiar with and act in accordance with the Education Code and San Joaquin Delta Community College District policies and procedures.liParticipate in departmental, divisional, advisory, and campus-wide committees as part of the shared-governance process and service area needs of the District.liMaintain office hours for students and participate in additional service hours/activities that benefit the student, college, or community. nbsp;liPlan and complete approved professional development flex activities each semester/year.liParticipate in the departmental process of curriculum review, curriculum modification, and the assessment of student learning outcomes.liWork collaboratively with the college to promote student equity and success.liProvide guidance and direction to Readers, as needed.liPerform other necessary duties as specified in the faculty contract and outlined in Board Policy./ol/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pspan style="padding: 0.0in;"MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:/spanp style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;"Applicant must meet the minimum educational qualifications set forth by the District and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office./pp style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;margin-left: 0.5in;"Any bachelor’s degree, strongspan style="padding: 0.0in;"AND/span/strong two years of professional experience*/pp style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;margin-left: 0.5in;"span style="padding: 0.0in;"OR/spanspan style="color: inherit;"nbsp;/span/pp style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;margin-left: 0.5in;"Any associate degree strongspan style="padding: 0.0in;"AND/span/strong six years professional experience*/pp style="margin: 0.0in;text-align: justify;color: inherit;margin-left: 45.0pt;text-indent: -9.0pt;"* Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree. The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment./pDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:ul style="margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"liDemonstrated sensitivity to race, ethnicity, color, religious creed, sex, gender expression, gender identity, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, prior contact with the criminal legal system, or any other basis prohibited by law.liDemonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different student abilities, learning styles, cultures, and groups mentioned above.liDemonstrated experience teaching in a variety of settings, including but not limited to online, dual enrollment, and large lectures. nbsp; A willingness to develop and utilize instructional materials, including lectures and labs for multiple modalities. nbsp;nbsp;liAbility to use innovative and creative teaching techniques (lecture and labs) and equipment such as multimedia hardware, current applications, learning management systems, and online instructional strategies.liClinical experience in emergency medical care, including EMT or Paramedic.liExperience in evaluation of clinical performance of health care professionals.liPossess a valid Physician, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or a Paramedic license in the State of California and have minimum (2) years of academic or clinical experience in emergency medicine or pre-hospital care in the last five (5) years.liAt least (40) hours of documented teaching methodology instruction in areas related to the methods, materials, and evaluation of instruction./ul/ph2Other Qualifications/h2pp style="margin-top: 0.0in;margin-right: 0.0in;margin-left: 0.0in;"strongApplicants in this pool will remain active for one year.
