YMCA Lifeguard - Flexible Schedule

pDescription/ppThe YMCA of Downtown Manchester is seeking Lifeguards to join our supportive team creating positive impacts in our community. nbsp;This is an opportunity for leaders looking to build key skills, boost a resume and make a difference in the lives of others. nbsp;Training and FREE certification courses are available for those not yet certified./ppstrongKnowledge, Skills amp; Abilities:/strong/ppLifeguards must be able to supervise swimmers, minimize dangers, educate members about water safety, enforce rules and regulations, prepare records and reports, and provide assistance whenever needed. nbsp;Lifeguards provide the safest possible environment for YMCA members and participants in the pool area./ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pulliMaintain constant surveillance of the pool area./liliMaintain positive and professional relationships with the members and other staff./liliUnderstand and apply safety rules and policies for the aquatics area./liliConduct and maintain accurate records including chemical testing, bather loads, accident reports./liliProperly dressed and on deck ready to work prior to scheduled start time./liliResponsible for securing substitutes to cover scheduled shifts in the case of an absence. nbsp;Report coverage to supervisor./liliUtilize and carry proper safety equipment at all times./liliAdequately react and respond to emergencies or skill audits./liliEnsure the pool is always secure./liliAttend all staff meetings and trainings as required./li/ulpstrongSchedule amp; Pay:/strong/ppFlexible part-time hours/ppPreferred availability is for weekends within the hours of Saturday 7:00a - 4:00p and Sunday 8:00a - 1:00p/ppbr//ppstrongQualifications:/strong/pulliMinimum age of 15/liliCertifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, O2/liliCurrent YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding/liliAbility to maintain or obtain certifications - level of physical and mental readiness./liliMust demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA or Red Cross standards./li/ulpstrongBenefits:/strong/pulliFlexible hours and team environment/liliLeadership development and paid training/liliStaff receive a free Y membership/liliRetirement plans available (for 18 +)/liliUNH Manchester, SNHU and Granite State College tuition discounts/liliDiscounts on Tickets and more/li/ul
