Casting Technician - Night Shift - Full-time

Casting operators may perform several different functions within the Casting department in order to meet production needs.nbsp;/ppstrongEssential Duties and Responsibilities/strong/pp· Follows safety rules 100% of the time./pp· Contributes to a safe work environment by following housekeeping guidelines.nbsp;/pp· Maintains good attendance./pp· Follows instructions and works to meet daily job assignments and KPI’s./pp· Rotates within work area when directed./pp· Monitors equipment condition and production quality and ensures all products (whether conforming or non-conforming) is processed in accordance with quality guidelines, customer requirements and the company’s control plan./pp· Openly communicates with team leader and/or quality regarding concerns./pp· Completes product tracking logs for various types of products./pp· Performs other Relevant work as assigned./pp· Complete required paperwork neatly and in a timely manner/pp· Other duties as assigned or designated./pp· Casting Operators perform at least one, but often several, of the below functions:/ppstrongDesprue/strong/pp· Checks the result of automatic desprue process.nbsp;/pp· Examines appearance of wheels./ppstrongDeslag/strong/pp· Opens amp; Closes furnace door for pours./pp· Push slag./pp· Replenishes aluminum liquid for casting holding furnaces./pp· Deslag low-pressure casting holding furnaces./ppstrongDownload/strong/pp· Prepares, sorts and stacks finished wheels.nbsp;/pp· Stores and/or ships finished wheels./ppstrongHeat Treatment/strong/pp· Performs operation of heat treatment equipment in accordance with quality standards./ppstrongX-Ray/strong/pp· Performs operation of x-ray inspection in accordance with quality standards.nbsp;/ppstrongAncillary/1st Piece Inspection/strong/pp· Visually and mechanically verifies quality points on each casting at specified intervals./pp· Decides whether the inspected product meets quality standards.nbsp;/pp· Communicates with other operators to rectify any abnormalities./ppstrongSkills and Experience/strong/pp· High School Diploma or GED/pp· Six months experience in a manufacturing environment./pp· Ability to read and understand written documents./ppstrongOrganizational Culture/strong/pp· Work safely and follow rules and guidelines for safe work./pp· Reporting to work on time and with a positive attitude/pp· Responsible for staying focused on tasks at hand./pp· Being responsible for work performance and completing tasks throughout the day/pp· Maintains a good working relationship with co-workers./pp· Support a positive and steady workflow through the company./pp· Works with a sense of urgency when needed./pp· Support, coach or mentor co-workers when needed./pp· Positively support change throughout the company/ppstrongPhysical Work Conditions/strong/pp· Must be able to work in a hot environment./pp· Must be able to lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight./pp· Must be able to lift 50 – 65 pounds./pp· Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day./pp· Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required./pp*Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
