pDescription/ppThe main responsibility of a host/hostess is to greet guests pleasantly, in a timely manner upon their arrival to the restaurant. The ultimate goal of a host/hostess is to welcome guests to their dining experience in a warm and friendly manner. The host/hostess will seat guests, present menus to guests, inform guests of their server, and answer any intermediary questions prior to the arrival of the server./ppuResponsibilities/u/pulliGreet and seat guests/liliPresent menus to guests/liliCreate and organize wait lists/liliManage floor plan/liliAnswer phone and answer any questions regarding the menu and restaurant/liliManage the call-ahead/reservation list in tandem with a manager/liliInteract with guests as they leave the restaurant in order to ensure positive dining experience/li/ulpuSkills/u/pulliStrong verbal communication skills towards guests and coworkers/liliSuperb reading and writing skills in order to create wait list and decipher wait time/liliExcellent organizational skills/liliMultitask in a high volume setting/li/ulpuWorking Conditions/u/pulliBe able to stand for the entirety of a scheduled shift/liliBe able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently/liliBe able to carry up to 15 lbs./li/ulpuEducation/Experience/u/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferred/liliPrior restaurant experience is not required/li/ul
