pDescription/ppstrongPosition Summary:/strong/ppThe Kids Cafe Attendant will provide nutritional services on a daily basis to youth and teens enrolled in the Club. The Kitchen Coordinator will serve as the direct supervisor for Kitchen services for members. In our Club there are areas that you as a potential staff person need to make sure we are developing. These areas are: Good Character and Citizenship, Academic Success, and Healthy Lifestyles./ppbr//ppstrongResponsibilities:/strong/pulliCommunicate regularly with our partners to ensure timely meal service/liliEffectively communicate any meal service concerns in a timely manner/liliEnsure food is in the proper storage space/liliAbility to effectively coordinate and mange our partnership with the Chicago Food Depository/liliKeep up to date with the products expiration dates/liliMake sure food is properly stored/liliMake sure kitchen is clean at all times/liliKeep count and manage inventory pertaining to kid’s cafe/liliManage all documentation and reporting that pertains to kid’s cafe/liliResponsible for cooking, and providing nutritional and well balance meals for club members at kid’s café/liliAble to serve meals to club members during kid’s cafe/liliAssures members are provided healthy and nutritional meals during kid’s cafe/liliDirect supervision of club members in the cafeteria during kid’s cafe/liliAssures kid’s cafe are left cleaned and organized at the end of the day/liliOther possible responsibilities pertaining to the club include, but are not limited to:/liliData entry/liliStaff supervision/liliChaperone for field trips/li/ulpstrongScope of Authority:/strong/ppThe Kitchen Coordinator’s direct supervisor is the Club Services Coordinator/ppRequirements/ppstrongKnowledge:/strong/pulliMust be computer literate and able to navigate and manage online portalnbsp;/liliMust have or be able to obtain all City of Chicago required licenses to operate a kitchen within 1 month of starting./liliDemonstrate knowledge of principles related to kid’s café/liliAbility to plan effectively/liliGroup leadership skills/liliUnderstanding of the population of youth served/liliDemonstrate knowledge of managing and updating inventory pertaining to kid’s cafe/li/ulpstrongEducation:/strong/ppEmployees need to be 18 or older and be enrolled in college or have some college courses./ppstrongExperience:/strong/ppMust have previously worked as a kitchen staff member or manager providing meals for youth members/ppstrongSkills Needed:/strong/pulliAbility to coordinate and manage kitchen facility in a timely, safe and orderly fashion/liliDecision Making, the kitchen coordinator will identify any potential/present/future problems and resolve them in compliance with the Club One policy and procedure handbook. If the problem cannot be fixed the kitchen coordinator will contact the Director of Club Services and Assistant Club Director and a solution will be reached jointly./liliLeadership–Be a Role Model for Co-Workers, Volunteers and especially members./liliEnhance and encourage the members to strive to meet their goals./liliPersonal Initiative to work and to achieve higher levels of responsibility to better serve the youth in all programs./liliPromote a Safe, and healthy environment. Making sure that the members know the safety rules of the Kids Cafe are understood and met./li/ulpstrongDesired Qualifications/strong/pulliDesire and ability to provide club members with a well balance and nutritional meal/liliAbility to accept supervision and guidance/liliGood character, integrity and adaptability/liliEnthusiasm, good judgment, patience and self-control/liliPositive example for youth and peers in appearance, attitude and behavior/liliMust participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders/li/ulpstrongOther Requirements:/strong/pulliMust be at least 18 years old/liliBe enrolled in college or have some college credits/liliMust be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test/liliMust attend all staff meetings./liliResponsible for all kids café activities from beginning to end/liliBe able to maintain high level of energy./liliBe adaptable and be flexible to change./liliAssume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/li/ulpbr//p
