Summer Student Advisors, Upward Bound/UB Math and Science Programs (Hammond, IN, US) - Full-time / Part-time

The Summer Advisor will work from 8am - 4:30pm until July 7th, then you will live in a residence hall from July 7 - July 19 and supervise approximately 30 - 50 high school students who are participating in this program. The Summer Advisor schedule will be up to 40 hours per week. The Summer Advisor will also be required to attend summer trips and all activities. The compensation is $13.00 per hour and up to 3 meals a day./span/span/p /div/divdiv style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"bDuties and Responsibilities/b/H2 /divdivul lispan style="font-size:14.0px"span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"Summer Advisors are required to live in a designated residence hall with the Upward Bound Students on campus during the Upward Bound component of summer.  Must maintain 24-hour residency 6 days a week (Sunday-Friday) during the 2 weeks residential component.  Advisors will be assigned a group of students, and will be responsible for supervising every student in a group living environment to ensure their safety and well-being 24 hours a day.  Oversee the physical maintenance of the residence hall as it pertains to TRIO Upward Bound students; this involves establishing procedures for key assignment and collection of keys, prevention of abuse of room furniture, lounges and rooms. Assess any residence hall problems, and make decisions in compliance with program guidelines. Perform daily room checks to ensure the safety of students.
