Master Mechanic - Full-time

p style="text-align:left"bJob Description:/b/pp style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:inherit"/ppPermatex is currently looking for a 1st Shift Master Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. The hours for this position are 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday./pp/ppbBASIC FUNCTION/b/ppAbility to perform complex repairs to maintain on-site machinery and mechanical equipment. Possesses strong communication skills and ability to train Mechanics through level A. /pp/ppbJOB DUTIES/b/pullipTroubleshoots, performs complex repairs and sets up equipment for all filling, packaging, mixing and building areas./p/lilipRecognizes and diagnoses problems leading to the dissembling, replacing and reassembling of any machine in the department./p/lilipPerforms routine and preventative maintenance on all machines and facility equipment following maintenance schedule./p/lilipPerforms complex electrical, plumbing, welding and carpentry duties./p/lilipOperates machine tools and improvises in making fixtures and parts when necessary./p/lilipInterprets drawings and schematics to locate problem area(s) and identifies the best method for corrective action./p/lilipUses a multimeter to troubleshoot both high-voltage systems and low-voltage controls./p/lilipCompletes necessary paperwork related to daily activities and/or projects./p/lilipInitiates complex work orders and reports abnormal machine conditions to appropriate personnel./p/lilipPerforms various other duties as necessary./p/lilipDevelops, trains maintenance Mechanics of all levels to safely complete all applicable training tasks./p/lilipTrains and guides other mechanics and routinely inspect their work./p/lilipValidates the purchasing of necessary parts and components for all repairs./p/li/ulp/ppbQUALIFICATIONS/WORK ENVIRONMENT/b/pullipHigh school diploma/GED and 5-10 years of technical trade experience in a similar role is required. /p/lilipStrong background in industrial electrics is highly preferred./p/lilipMust have experience with controls (PLC, Air Logic), electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems as well as the ability to read and interpret machine assembly drawings and schematics./p/lilipMust have the ability to troubleshoot I/O controls (24VDC, 120VAC) by using a multimeter to identify electrical/component issues./p/lilipThe nature of this position requires standing/walking nearly 100% of the working shift and some lifting, 50#43; pounds, as well as bending, climbing, and twisting motions are required and constitute approximately 35% of the working shift. /p/lilipPrevious experience with the operation of motorized equipment (powered industrial trucks) highly desirable. /p/lilipFinger/hand dexterity is essential to perform duties involving grasping, pulling/pushing and twisting motions. /p/lilipIn addition, environmental factors that are present for this position include:  working in heat/cold, around dust, chemicals, noise and heights./p/lilipMust read and write English and perform simple math calculations./p/li/ulp/ppPay Rate is $34-$40 an hour depending on experience/pp/p
