Truck drivers are responsible for safe and efficient operation of their trucks and for maintaining all pertinent records.p style="text-align:inherit"/pp style="text-align:left"ubJob Description/b/u/pulliDrives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations./liliManeuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed./liliDrives truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight and conform to state regulations./liliMaintains driver log according to DOT regulations./liliInspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition./liliReads bill of lading to determine assignment./liliFastens chains or binders, which includes throwing straps, to secure loads on trailer during transit./liliLoads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck. Services and maintains truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid./liliComplies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. /liliReports all unsafe activities to supervisor./liliParticipates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals./liliMust perform a minimum of 3 safety engagement activities per week.
