This position will support Klamath Community College, its Apprenticeship programs and surrounding areas. nbsp;The strongCarpentry Instructor/strong, needs to demonstrate – through hands-on training and classroom instruction – proper technique, safety, and detail which are essential skills of sophisticated/skilled construction professionals.brbrbr/ph2Position Duties/h2pstrongESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/strongbrulliInstruct program participants and apprentices in carpentry using approved curriculumliUse of strongNCCER/strong curriculum and supporting training materials, is necessary (Training Provided)liCoordinate hands-on training activities including on-site and community-based projectsliDemonstrate proper tool and equipment use, with an emphasis on safe tool operation and student safety.liRecommendations for student job placement and assistance with apprenticeship training unitsliContinued employment in this position will be contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining required agency credentials as a part of Apprenticeship AccreditationliMonitor and coaching of traineesnbsp;liPerform various administrative and reporting functions, including: student performance profiles, online test proctoring through online strongNCCER/strong testing systemliLab and classroom instruction, including: lecture and PowerPoint presentations with laboratory hands-on instruction/ulbr/ph2Minimum Qualifications/h2pstrongQUALIFICATIONS/strongbrulliPossess or be eligible for certification and/or license, or other credentials required by contract and/or state employmentliA minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is strongrequired/strongliAt least 10 years of experience in Carpentry/Construction/Related Trades necessary strongrequired/strongliA strong dedication to safety in the workplace, classroom and labs is a mustliMust be able to demonstrate competencies in:ollistrongCarpentry:/strongulliHand and Power ToolsliConstruction DrawingsliFloor SystemsliWalls SystemsliCeiling Joist and Roof FramingliRoofing and SidingliDrywall Installation and FinishingliTrim, Windows, and Door InstallationliBasic Stair Layout/ul/olliMust have basic computer skills, including: database, MS Office, NCCER instructor resourcesnbsp;liStrong leadership and coaching skills and a strong fortitude for teaching, instruction, inspire and lead future trades professionalsliAbility to provide clear instructions in the carpentry trade/or vocational arealiValid driver’s license strongrequired/strongliOSHA 10 safety certification (strongpreferred/strong) (Can Obtain w/in 3 months)liCPR Certification (strongpreferred/strong) (Can Obtain w/in 3 months)liAble to lift 20 lbs., bend and work on your feet for many hoursliHave a high level of demonstrable competency gained through a combination of study, teaching experience, and/or professional performance in the subject area and/or have the qualifications set by the licensing or accrediting organization for the subject areanbsp;/ul/ph2Other Qualifications/h2pdiv style="text-align: center;"emKCC is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
