PRN Medical Assistant

pSIMEDHealth is currently seeking PRN Medical Assistants for our office in our Gainesville FL locations.#160;brbrMultiple shifts are available and are flexible based on your schedule.#160; Employees should be able to commit to 8-16 hours per week.brbrMedical Assistants may also be assigned front desk duties (check in/check out) and will be required to float to multiple departments based on necessity. Some weekend shifts may be available.brbrThe Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for the management and flow of the clinical day. It is the MA#8217;s responsibility to ensure that patients receive clinical care such as vital signs, assisting MD#8217;s with procedures, responding to patient inquiries, assisting patients with referrals and procedures and other patient care duties.#160;The MA must do his/her position while remembering Customer Service, safety and professionalism are key components of this position./ppCandidates should have the following qualifications:/pulliBLS/CPR certification REQUIRED/liliGraduated from an accredited Medical Assisting, EMT, LPN, or similar program and/or have achieved National Certification PREFERRED/lili1-2 years previous experience with an electronic health record PREFERRED/liliWorked one or more years in a private medical office or hospital setting PREFERRED/li/ulpListed below are some of the duties and responsibilities for the MA:/pulliPrepare patient electronic medical records#160;to ensure that all appropriate documentation is present for each patient visit./liliRoom patients; obtain full set of accurate vital signs and document in chart or EHR./liliCoordinate medical refill requests between the patient and the physician/liliAdminister medications as ordered by provider (e.g. injections, oral and topical) for which you are qualified and instructed./liliAssist/perform all necessary patient procedures for which you are qualified. May perform EKGs, spirometry testing, dressings and wound care depending on practice make up/liliTriage and screen#160;patient calls and assist patients with questions regarding their care./liliAssisting with patient referrals and/or authorizations for surgical procedures or other procedures as needed./li/ul
