The Institutional Client Analyst will play a critical support role in the Client Solutions Group (CSG) at Campbell. The Analyst will specifically support the Product Specialist efforts, which covers a broad range of responsibilities focused on quantitative and qualitative sales support, investor relations, and content development.
The Institutional Client Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support to the client service and sales efforts, with a focus on data analysis, due diligence requests, presentation support and quality control. To perform these functions, the role requires a highly analytical mindset, experience in financial markets including derivatives and equities, as well as the ability to develop an understanding of the quantitative investment landscape and the regulatory requirements and guidelines of Campbell’s market space.
Principal Responsibilities:
Due Diligence and Analytical Client Support
• Assist with ongoing due diligence requests and other inquiries from prospective or current investors, ensuring we provide detailed, thoughtful and thorough responses.
• Prepare draft responses for investment-related content in RFPs and DDQs.
• Update monthly and quarterly data templates, attribution reports and other items as required.
• Draft custom commentaries on a monthly/quarterly basis and update all custom reports.
• Act as a liaison to other groups within Campbell (e.g., research, accounting and compliance) to gather necessary information to support due diligence, sales and/or client service activities.
• Facilitate due diligence visits and assist with completion of any periodic questionnaires.
• Participate in the materials review process to ensure quality control.
Content Generation and Analysis
• Gather, organize and analyze data to assist the Product Specialist in developing marketing materials, custom content, investor letters, white papers and other publications.
• Draft monthly talking points on performance drivers and other portfolio updates.
• Research and analyze the competitive landscape (i.e., new products, market trends, regulatory changes, etc.).
• Provide additional support to the Content Development process as required.
Investor Relations
• Assist with preparation for client calls and meetings.
• Ensure client meeting notes are accurately captured in the CRM system.
• Assist the Product Specialist with relationship management as needed.
Decision making authority
• Navigate a diverse range of personalities and styles when working with colleagues in sales, research, senior leadership and throughout the firm.
• Independently prioritize deliverables, ensuring that client/prospect deadlines are met and expectations have been set and communicated internally.
• Effectively communicate with external clients and prospects to ensure delivery of timely follow up in a complaint and appropriate manner.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Accounting, International Business or a related field.
• 2 – 4 years’ experience, including some experience in an analytical support role.
• Fundamental understanding of risk and performance statistics and general portfolio analysis.
• Technically savvy including an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to create sophisticated data templates.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and individual settings.
• Demonstrated impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.
• Candidate must be able to obtain a Series 3 license.
