ED has triple, double then single coverage progressive throughout the 24-hour shift. Also has physician assistant coverage 9a-9p. ED has 17 exam rooms, two trauma and two chest rooms. Life Med access and the admission rate is 10%. Entire department consists of six full time MDs and three full time PAs. Service area is 150k and volume is 35k. ED is Level II with stabilize and ship for heads and hearts. Diagnostic cath lab on site. 24 hour Hospitalist program, 24 hour ICU and Critical Care coverage along with diagnostic ultrasound. Salary for experienced surgeon is over $390k+. Benefits include 4 weeks' vacation, 12 sick days, 6 paid holidays. Insurances: malpractice, health, dental, long term & short term disability and life.
