Neonatologist Job Opportunity in Scenic Elmira, New York

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified Neonatologist to join our team at Arnot Ogden Medical Center (AOMC) in picturesque Elmira, New York. This vibrant community is located in the Finger Lakes Region, known for its beautiful wineries and waterfalls. As the only regional perinatal center in the area, AOMC offers a comprehensive range of women's health services, including MFM services and a Level III NICU.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality care in a team-oriented environment using evidence-based clinical guidelines.
• Participate in block scheduling; remote living options are available.
• Oversee 24-hour, in-house coverage provided by NNPs, including transport calls and attendance at high-risk deliveries.
• Support critical care of newborns in a 20-bed Level-III NICU, managing an average of 1,500 deliveries per year and handling almost 300 NICU admissions.
• Utilize available pediatric subspecialty consultative services as needed.
• Collaborate with staff in a welcoming environment with excellent nursing support.
• Work approximately 15-20% of admissions as transports from referring hospitals.

Qualifications:

• Board Eligible (within 5 years of residency) or Board Certified in Pediatrics.
• Board Eligible (within 5 years of fellowship) or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
• New York medical license or willingness to obtain one.
• DEA certification must be obtained prior to start.
• New graduate candidates are encouraged to apply (fellowship must be completed prior to start).

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

• Board Certified in Pediatrics - REQUIRED.
• Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine - REQUIRED.
• Current New York State medical license (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED.
• DEA certification (must be obtained prior to start) - REQUIRED.
