Are you a dedicated OB/GYN physician seeking an engaging locum tenens opportunity? A healthcare facility near Skanee, Michigan, is in need of temporary coverage to support its obstetrics and gynecology department. This position offers a mix of inpatient care, scheduled clinical hours, and call responsibilities. Position Details Start Date : November 15, 2024 End Date : June 18, 2025 Call Requirements : 10 hours of in-house coverage, followed by 14 hours of on-call coverage. Must respond to the Emergency Department or Labor & Delivery within 10 minutes when required. Average 8 call interactions per 24 hours. Shift Details : 8 hours of onsite presence with 24-hour call shifts during specified dates. Practice Setting : Inpatient only. Patients Per Day : Approximately 4.3 patients. Number of Beds : 15 in the obstetrics department. Clinical Requirements Procedures and Skills Needed : Low and high-risk pregnancies, routine deliveries, and C-sections. Vaginal breech delivery and VBACs. Management of complications like abruptions and multiple births. Proficiency in OB ultrasounds and gynecologic procedures (e.g., IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, LEEP). Laparoscopic and open gynecologic surgeries. Certifications & Qualifications Board Certification : Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Licensure : Active Michigan state license required. Additional Certifications : No advanced life support certifications are required, but candidates are encouraged to hold ABLS, ACLS, BLS, or similar. Additional Information Hospital Support : Collaborate with 68 RNs daily. Residents and Students : Supervise family medicine residents and medical students during rotations. Deliveries : Approximately 370380 deliveries annually within the unit. Travel and Logistics Nearest Airport Lodging : Recommendations will be provided upon request.
