American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, floating to ER and Med-Surg, and an active NM or compact RN license.

- Day shift position, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM \n
- 12-bed ICU unit with a 1:2-3 patient ratio \n
- Patients require total ICU care including ventilator management, titratable drips, and hygiene care \n
- Floating required to the Emergency Department and Med-Surg departments \n
- When floating to the ED, nurses assist with call lights, medication passing, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws rather than taking a full patient assignment \n
- When floating to Med-Surg, nurses may be assigned a full patient load of up to 6 patients or may serve in an aide role covering up to 12 patients \n
- Float rotation is tracked via a float log; house supervisors may override rotation based on departmental needs \n
- No on-call required \n
- EMR: MedHost \n
- Any scrub color is acceptable \n

- Active NM or compact RN license required \n
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the start date \n
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required \n
- Experience in both ER and Med-Surg settings required \n
- TNCC preferred \n
- Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene preferred \n
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months \n
- Valid driver's license required \n

- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible \n
- Holiday coverage is required \n
- RTO requests must be less than one week in duration \n
- Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; this process can take several weeks \n
- Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position \n
- Blocked scheduling may be accommodated if requested upfront \n
