Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I academic trauma center in Washington, D.C., requiring a minimum of 3 years of ED experience and active DC RN licensure.

Details
  • Work in a high-acuity Emergency Department at an academic hospital in Washington, D.C.
  • Treats a diverse patient population including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and critical care/trauma patients
  • Travelers must be willing and able to work in the trauma room as the bedside trauma RN
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Critical care skills utilized include medication titrations, arterial line management, mass transfusion of blood products, and chest tube management
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active DC RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (AHA-issued certifications only)
  • CPI certification is required for this position
  • Minimum 3 years of ED experience required, with at least 2 years in a U.S. hospital setting
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
  • BSN highly desired
  • Active U.S. Social Security Number required
  • Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the most recent 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
  • Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Coordinates and delivers care to patients with complex nursing needs, emphasizing patient safety, quality, and a positive patient experience
  • Must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
  • Fast-paced environment managing a wide spectrum of acuity levels from simple procedures to critical trauma cases
