Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our café team. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing soups, sandwiches, and salads in a fast-paced environment. This position requires attention to detail, cleanliness, and a passion for quality food preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of fresh soups, sandwiches, and salads according to café recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely and organized manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
- Assist with prepping ingredients daily (chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, making dressings, aiolis etc.).
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper kitchen procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the manager.
- Assist with restocking and receiving deliveries as needed.
- Maintain proper labeling and storage of food items.
- Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members.
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred (especially in a café or deli setting).
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume setting.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Reliable and punctual with a positive team attitude.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a hot kitchen environment.
