Software Development Full Time Position Description Reynolds and Reynolds builds the software that runs automotive dealerships. Our Cloud Engineering team owns the infrastructure that powers those solutions, including how it is built, how it fails, and what it costs. Engineers own meaningful projects end-to-end, from architecture and design through implementation and operational support.<\/p>\nWe believe great engineering starts with understanding the bigger picture. They\u2019re the kind of engineers who see a latency spike as an opportunity to understand what\u2019s happening rather than simply a problem to fix, and who enjoy sharing the thinking behind the solutions they deliver, with or without AI-assisted tools.<\/p>\nWhat You\u2019ll Do:\n-Design cloud infrastructure and operating approaches aligned with system architecture, reliability, performance, and cost goals\n-Own technical decisions from architecture and tradeoff analysis through implementation, validation, and operation- Build and maintain infrastructure as code, automation, CI\/CD workflows, and observability for Linux and Windows workloads\n-Investigate latency, failures, and scaling issues; explain what broke, why it broke, and how the system was improved\n-Participate in a shared on-call rotation after becoming familiar with the environment<\/p>\nTechnologies:\n-Infrastructure as code: Terraform \/ OpenTofu\n-Languages and scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell\n-AWS: EC2, EKS, containers, load balancers, API Gateway, S3, EBS, Lambda\n-Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki\n-Data platforms: PostgreSQL and SQL Server replication\n-Platforms and practices: Linux, Windows, networking, CI\/CD<\/p>\n#LI-DNI<\/p>\n Training Training for this position will be offered in a team-oriented hands-on instructional environment with a mentor. There will be daily tasks for completion and internal courses to be completed throughout your training. The courses available will include common network and server technologies and will also cover operations, engineering, and development responsibilities that are company specific.<\/p>\n Requirements Bachelor&'s or Master&'s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; Coursework in operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and system design; A cloud-based system or project you have built and operated that you can explain in detail, including the design tradeoffs, failure modes, what broke, and why; Working knowledge of Python plus Bash or PowerShell, infrastructure as code, and Linux and Windows administration; Networking fundamentals including DNS, TLS, CIDR, and routing; Depth with one cloud provider and the ability to map its core services and concepts to another platform; Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or higher, AWS certifications, Azure exposure, hands-on Kubernetes experience, substantial open-source or independent projects, research beyond coursework, and the ability to read and build C++ from source<\/p>\n Benefits We strive to offer an environment that provides our associates with the right balance between work and family.
