Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and prior travel nursing experience.

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 total staffed beds
\n
• Emergency Department serving a combined adult/pediatric population
\n
• STEMI certified and Stroke certified facility
\n
• Handles shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds
\n
• Patient ratio of 1:4
\n
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (5:45 PM to 6:15 AM)
\n
• Weekend requirement of every 3rd weekend, with rotation on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday
\n
• No floating required outside of scope
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• EPIC charting system used
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
\n
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
\n
• Prior travel nursing experience required
\n
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
\n
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
\n
• EPIC charting experience required
\n
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
\n
• Experience obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
\n
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
\n
• Proficient in isolation precautions and PPE protocols
\n
• Skilled in splint application and orthopedic care
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of adult and pediatric presentations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
\n
• Navy scrub color required
\n
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
\n
• Standard travelers may stay for up to an 18-month period, followed by a required 3-month break in service
\n
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
\n
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
\n
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
\n
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved with no exceptions
\n
